Eztara: The Last Colony of Atlantis

Overview #

Eztara was an ancient city located deep within the Amazon, believed to have been the last surviving colony of Atlantis. Established centuries before the fall of the legendary island, Eztara endured long after its parent civilization was lost to the sea. Unlike the other Atlantean colonies, which collapsed due to war, disease, or isolation, Eztara flourished for centuries, preserving knowledge, culture, and architectural advancements that had long vanished from the rest of the world.

However, around 500 AD, the city was destroyed by a massive earthquake, ending its dominance and leaving its survivors to fend for themselves in the untamed jungle. These survivors became the Yvayas, a distinct tribal group whose lighter skin set them apart from other Indigenous peoples of the region.

Foundation of Eztara #

Eztara was one of four original Atlantean colonies established on the American continent, meant to serve as extensions of Atlantis’ knowledge and influence. Each colony was carefully chosen based on natural resources, geographic isolation, and access to waterways.

While the other three colonies fell to natural disasters, hostile forces, or unsustainable conditions, Eztara endured due to:

  • Its deep integration with the land, allowing for sustainable agriculture and trade.
  • A governing system based on scholarship and celestial observation, rather than military conquest.
  • Strong leadership that adapted to changing climates and external pressures.

At its height, Eztara was a city of scholars, engineers, and seafarers, preserving technologies and traditions lost elsewhere. It was a center of trade and knowledge, exchanging goods and ideas with neighboring tribes while maintaining Atlantean customs and beliefs.

The Great Cataclysm #

Despite its stability, Eztara was not immune to the forces of nature. Around 500 AD, a violent earthquake struck the region, triggering landslides and floods that devastated the city’s infrastructure.

Survivor accounts, passed down through generations, describe:

  • The ground splitting apart, swallowing entire sections of the city.
  • The rivers rising violently, flooding temples, homes, and markets.
  • Walls and towers crumbling, as aftershocks continued for days.

The destruction was swift and left the city in ruins. Many of its inhabitants perished instantly, while others were stranded in an unfamiliar and hostile world. With Eztara gone, so too was its knowledge—books, scrolls, and written records were lost, erasing much of its history and technological advancements.

The Birth of the Yvayas #

Not all of Eztara’s people perished in the disaster. Many who lived outside the city walls—hunters, traders, farmers—managed to survive. However, without their homeland, they had no choice but to adapt to the harsh jungle environment.

Over generations, these survivors evolved into a distinct tribal society known as the Yvayas.

Cultural and Physical Differences #

  • Unlike other Indigenous tribes of the Amazon, the Yvayas retained a lighter skin tone, a genetic trait passed down from their Atlantean ancestry.
  • With no access to their former knowledge, they relied on oral tradition, developing their own unique culture while still preserving fragments of Eztaran beliefs.
  • Though they lost the ability to read and write, they maintained an instinctive connection to celestial cycles, unknowingly continuing traditions that once guided their ancestors.

Pilgrimage to the Bay #

Despite losing their city, the Yvayas never forgot where they came from. Over centuries, they developed a ritualistic tradition of returning to the site of Eztara.

  • Every year, they made pilgrimages to the bay, believing it to be a sacred place tied to their ancestors.
  • Although they had no written records of their past, their oral histories spoke of a lost city beneath the jungle and waters.
  • Over time, these journeys became spiritual events, reinforcing their identity and preserving what little remained of their past.

Legacy #

Eztara is considered lost to time, its ruins buried beneath centuries of jungle growth. While no confirmed archaeological discoveries have been made, legends of an ancient city beneath the bay persist among the Yvayas and surrounding cultures.

The city’s destruction forever changed the fate of its people, giving rise to a tribe that would later shape the history of Porto Yvonia. While the knowledge of Atlantis may have vanished with the fall of Eztara, its descendants still walk the earth, unknowingly carrying fragments of a lost civilization.

A Doorway to the Past? #

Though most believe Eztara is gone forever, some whispers remain—rumors of a hidden passage, a buried doorway, a forgotten entrance to the lost city beneath the bay.

Could Eztara’s secrets still exist, waiting to be uncovered?

That is a mystery yet to be solved.
